What Does Bioponics Mean?

Bioponics is the name of the growing technology that utilizes biologically decomposed organic matter as the fertilizer source for plant growth. With no synthetic ingredient use or exposure, within an aquaponic closed system, the produce can be certified as organic.

Bioponics – Bio (from the Greek bios – life, mode of life) combined with hydroponic. Bioponics is a simple innovative food production technology that combines the use of both aquaculture and hydroponic growing techniques. This blended technology replaces the mineral nutrient salts used in hydroponics with the natural input of nutrients from a biological source; fish effluent.
